As a Full-Time Store Manager Development Role, you will receive hands-on training in all aspects of successfully operating a store, preparing you to manage your own store in the future. You will play a vital role in overseeing daily store activities, enhancing customer satisfaction, identifying staffing needs, managing schedules, and developing operational plans while mentoring and nurturing your team.

Position Type: Full-Time
Estimated Hours: 48-50 hours per week
Starting Wage: $26.50 per hour
Estimated Year 1 Earning Potential: Up to $80,500 (inclusive of salary and bonus when applicable)

Your Responsibilities:
As a Store Manager Trainee, you'll:
  • Oversee daily operations and lead your team to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Embody and communicate the company's core values, fostering teamwork and a sense of belonging among staff.
  • Address customer concerns with effective resolutions to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Ensure store signage is up-to-date, and maintain the quality and freshness of products.
  • Assist with hiring by reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and making sound staffing decisions.
  • Prepare and manage weekly schedules for optimal store staffing.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Identify training opportunities that will help your team enhance their skills.
  • Perform annual evaluations to recommend advancements and terminations as necessary.
  • Achieve payroll and total loss budgets while maintaining financial controls.
  • Perform cash audits in conjunction with your leader to meet company guidelines.
  • Monitor community competition and propose adjustments to maintain competitiveness.
  • Provide feedback on products, suggesting new items and discontinuations as needed.
  • Create a safe work environment by identifying and addressing hazards and ensuring equipment is maintained.
  • Oversee product merchandising and stock levels through effective ordering.
  • Conduct inventory counts and reconciliations according to procedures.
  • Uphold company policies while securing confidential documents and data.
  • Complete other assigned duties as necessary.
Physical Demands:
This role involves:
  • The ability to stock merchandise and lift products weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking throughout the store.
  • Performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
  • A minimum age of 21 years.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on fostering rapport and communication.
  • The capacity to interpret company policies and apply them effectively.
  • A track record of establishing goals and guiding performance within a team.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses management.
  • Experience operating a cash register efficiently.
  • Familiarity with safety equipment operations, including electric/manual hand jacks and floor scrubbers.
  • Effective organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compliance with state and local regulations regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
Education and Experience:
Preferred qualifications include:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior management experience is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
As a Full-Time Store Manager Trainee, you will train at various locations and must be flexible to travel according to divisional requirements.
