Position Summary

We are actively seeking a highly motivated entry-level Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic Application Development team. In this role, you will be tasked with creating solutions that automate business workflows and modernize legacy back-end systems. As a valued team member, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and testing of high-quality solutions that align with business requirements. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, possessing a deep understanding of software engineering principles. Strong Java development skills are essential, with preferred experience in Salesforce and familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Autorabit, and Octopus. This position is well-suited for a recent college graduate, post-graduate student, or former CVS intern eager to launch their career in software development.

Expectations for this role:
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using best practices and design patterns
  • Strategic thinking - able to identify a vision along with the plans, which need to be implemented to meet the end goal, evaluating situations, decisions, and issues in the short, medium, and long term
  • Analytical thinking - able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically
  • Collaborate with various areas of the organization including business partners, product owners, architecture, security mavens, and IT engineering teams to understand business requirements and design specifications.
  • Voracious appetite for learning
Preference is for candidates to work hybrid out of our corporate office in Woonsocket, RI or Hartford, CT or BlueBell, PA; Remote will be considered for candidates not in close proximity to an office.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years' of work and/or academic experience with Java or Apex development.
  • 2+ years' of work and/or academic experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Octopus or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with GCP
Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$79,310.00 - $158,620.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
