Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of full charge bookkeeping experience in the solar industry.
  • Proficiency in the operation of accounting software platforms, including QuickBooks.
  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational and time-management proficiencies.

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with solar CRM/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, including Core365.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal renewable energy incentive programs.
  • Familiarity with solar financing models, such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), leases, and loans, is advantageous.

Day to Day:

The Bookkeeper is responsible for the comprehensive management of daily financial transactions, ensuring the meticulous maintenance of financial records, and providing critical support to accounting operations specific to solar energy projects. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in bookkeeping practices and a demonstrable familiarity with the intricacies of solar industry workflows, incentive programs, and financing structures.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Execute the processing of vendor invoices and customer payments, while guaranteeing the timely issuance of billing and collection activities.
  • Bank Reconciliation Procedures: Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and loan accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Project Cost Oversight: Implement detailed tracking and categorization of expenditures associated with solar projects, encompassing materials, labor, permitting, and subcontractor services.
  • Incentive and Rebate Administration: Record and diligently monitor renewable energy incentives (e.g., Investment Tax Credit, Solar Renewable Energy Certificates, state rebates) and apply these to the relevant financial accounts.
  • General Ledger Administration: Post journal entries, maintain accurate ledger documentation, and contribute to the execution of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Financial Reporting Preparation: Generate comprehensive financial statements, cash flow reports, and job-costing summaries for review by senior management.
  • Payroll Support Services: Provide assistance in payroll processing or coordinate with external payroll service providers, including the monitoring of project labor hours.
  • Regulatory Compliance Assurance: Ensure rigorous adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), solar industry compliance standards, and provide support for audit preparations as required.
  • Software and Systems Management: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero) and facilitate integration with solar-specific Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or project management tools.

Salary

$65,000 - $80,000 annually dependent on experience
