We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory to lead and manage the food safety and regulatory programs of client. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food or beverage manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and team leadership to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMPs, and SQF or equivalent programs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSMA).
- Lead and develop a high-performing FSQA team across multiple sites or production lines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits and inspections.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and support product innovation.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in food safety and quality.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and manage teams effectively.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and food safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Prior experience working directly with USDA
Preferred Certifications:
- HACCP Certification
- PCQI, SQF Practitioner, or similar food safety credentials
