Role Overview We are on the lookout for a talented
Frontend Engineer who will be pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining the user-facing components of our bustling web search application. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with design, product, machine learning, and backend teams to create engaging user experiences that facilitate effortless discovery of scientific research.
Key Responsibilities - Craft user-facing features utilizing React, Next.js, and TypeScript, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness across various devices.
- Work with design teams to bring wireframes and mockups to life, creating intuitive interfaces with a sharp focus on aesthetic appeal.
- Employ Tailwind CSS to produce clean, scalable, and maintainable styles that provide a unified visual experience.
- Establish and uphold frontend observability through logging, monitoring, and testing, ensuring a robust and stable user experience.
- Collaborate with the backend engineering team to integrate APIs and services smoothly, handling data flows securely and efficiently.
- Enhance frontend build processes and workflows, actively contributing to our continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) systems.
- Stay updated on the latest frontend technologies and best practices to further enrich our application's user experience.
Essential Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in frontend web development with a strong emphasis on modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js).
- Expertise in TypeScript and knowledge of best practices for creating scalable codebases.
- Proven ability to design beautiful, user-friendly interfaces using CSS (preferably Tailwind CSS).
- Experience with frontend observability, including logging, performance monitoring, error tracking, and automated testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git) in a professional setting.
Preferred Skills - Experience with design systems or advanced CSS methodologies.
- Knowledge of server-side rendering and SEO optimizations in Next.js.
- Understanding of backend fundamentals for effective collaboration with backend teams.
- An eye for UX/UI design.
