Frontend Developer

Waybetter Marketing is a marketing agency based in Columbia, Maryland. We are seeking a Frontend Developer to join our team at headquarters. The right candidate will have 5+ years of experience in creating highly usable web experiences and the ability to be physically present in our Maryland office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We offer a hybrid schedule, with remote Wednesdays and Fridays for all employees.

As a Frontend Developer on our team, you'll be instrumental in building a dynamic, intuitive student engagement hub designed to drive interaction, boost enrollment, and maximize retention through a seamless and compelling user experience.

In Summary, You'll Enjoy Days of:
  • Collaborating closely with team members and stakeholders to bring webpages and digital experiences to life
  • Managing project tasks, developing front-end solutions, and supporting team members
  • Developing engaging, student-facing webpages with a mobile-first approach
  • Ensuring technical feasibility and practical implementation of UI/UX designs
  • Optimizing webpages for maximum speed, scalability, and maintainability
  • Building and maintaining highly reusable, modular code libraries to accelerate future projects
  • Conducting thorough quality assurance (QA) testing to ensure accuracy, usability, and visual fidelity across devices and browsers
  • Training and mentoring coworkers on how to adapt and extend reusable code for future projects
  • Wearing several hats, including project management, development, and technical mentorship
Skills and Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a front-end developer building dynamic, scalable webpages
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS
  • Solid understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, particularly React and jQuery
  • Deep understanding of the full web development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment)
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering pixel-perfect, accurate, and reusable code
  • Familiarity with Git version control workflows
  • Knowledge of responsive, mobile-first development principles
