Hyatt Place Pasadena - Front Desk Supervisor

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for all duties of the front desk operation which includes: staff training, inter-department communications, and staff scheduling. The Front Desk Supervisor should possess strong communication skills and demonstrate leadership abilities. In addition to assisting in the operation of the Front Office and guest services personnel, this position will respond quickly to guest requests and/or complaints in a friendly manner and ensure that appropriate action is taken to guarantee guest satisfaction.

This position will report to the Director of Operations. Flexible schedule is a must.

Responsibilities:

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible to assist with the efficient running of the department in line with corporate strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the Front Desk Department within the Rooms Division. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervise the operations of the Front Desk.
  • Maintain the highest productivity, employee morale, and guest service as possible.
  • Ensure that all hotel policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist with scheduling.
  • Facilitating new hire and on-going training.
  • Working the front desk, learning all shifts in order to cover as needed.
  • Addressing guest concerns, solving problems and offering service recovery as needed.
  • Monitoring inventory and submitting orders as needed.
  • Tracking adjustments and verifying checklist completion.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience in a Hotel or other customer relations position is required.
  • Experience with Hyatt brand is a plus.
  • Requires knowledge of discipline specific procedures and services and general knowledge of other departments in the hotel.
  • Ability to achieve positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate in English. Second language desirable.
  • Ability to handle cash and credit transactions.
  • Ability to enforce all company rules and standards of operations.
  • Previous OPERA experience desired.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and other computer programs.
