Front end Architect with Security Clearance

Front-End Architect Location: Arlington, VA or Washington, DC. Work Type: Hybrid - expected on-site 20% in Arlington, VA or Washington, DC offices. Remote Work: Yes. Description: Gridiron IT is looking to hire a Front-End Architect to support a government program. Experienced Front-End Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of user-facing systems, particularly focusing on high-performance React applications and data visualization. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of front-end architecture, scalable design principles, and is skilled at transforming complex datasets into insightful and user-friendly visualizations. Responsibilities:
• Architect and Develop: Design and implement front-end architecture for complex applications using React, focusing on performance, scalability, and reusability.
• Data Visualization: Collaborate closely with data scientists and product teams to build custom data visualizations, using libraries like D3.js, Chart.js, or similar, to effectively represent complex data sets.
• Component Library Development: Create and maintain a scalable, reusable component library to ensure consistent design and function across the application.
• Code Standards & Best Practices: Establish and enforce front-end development standards, code style guides, and best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance application performance through techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting, and efficient rendering.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Guide and mentor junior developers, promoting best practices and contributing to continuous learning within the team.
• User Experience Focus: Work with UX/UI designers to bring intuitive, user-centered designs to life, ensuring smooth interactions and effective data presentation.
• Stay Current with Technology: Research and implement emerging front-end technologies, particularly within the React ecosystem, to keep our products at the cutting edge. Qualifications:
• Experience: 5+ years in front-end development with significant experience as a front-end architect or lead, focusing on React.
• Expertise in React: Advanced knowledge of React and its ecosystem (Redux, Hooks, Context API), as well as modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Data Visualization Skills: Proficiency in data visualization libraries such as D3.js, Highcharts, or similar.
• Performance-Driven Mindset: Strong understanding of front-end performance optimization and debugging techniques.
• UI/UX Collaboration: Experience working with UI/UX design teams, translating wireframes and designs into interactive applications.
• Strong Knowledge of Web Technologies: Deep understanding of HTML, CSS (SASS/SCSS), and JavaScript, as well as RESTful APIs.
• Tooling: Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (Webpack, Babel, etc.)
• AWS Experience a plus Must Have: Active Secret Clearance Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of experience Experience with Cloud, AWS, Data Platforms, Microservices Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $65-75 hourly (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
