Now Hiring - Front Desk Support Positions.

The Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) is looking for highly organized Front Desk Support staff who are committed to delivering the best customer service possible. The Front Desk Support position provides the first point of clerical and customer support, focusing on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for our patrons. The district also provides a bilingual pay incentive to staff who regularly use their bilingual or multilingual skills.

This is an entry-level position. However, previous experience providing administrative and clerical support is preferred. Successful candidates will have knowledge and experience in office management principles and apply this knowledge to work problems, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. They will also have a basic understanding of applicable software and computer operations, specifically Office 365 platforms, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Teams.

Scheduling:
Staff are typically scheduled 4 to 29 hours weekly, between 5:00 a.m. and 10:15 p.m., throughout the week. Part-time variable employees are scheduled flexible hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year.

Times may vary based on programming needs.

Currently, shifts that need coverage are as follows:
  • Aloha Swim Center: Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 1:45pm
  • Aquatic Center 50M: Monday - Friday 7:45am - 12:00pm, 2:45pm - 7:30pm, Saturday 5:30am - 11:15am, 1:00pm - 4:00pm, Sunday 8:30am - 11:45am, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Raleigh Swim Center: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Somerset West Swim Center: 8:00am - 12:00pm
Duties:
Key components of the job include (but are not limited to):
  • Answering multi-line telephone and direct calls to appropriate personnel and take accurate messages.
  • Greeting the public and providing information and assistance regarding schedules, program descriptions, and other general information over the phone and in-person.
  • Performing general clerical support, such as preparing and formatting forms, letters, and reports from rough draft or detailed instructions.
  • Assisting the public with program enrollment by signing participants up for programs, receipting money, and performing related registration procedures.
  • Creating a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior.
  • Assisting with the daily cleaning and sanitization of the work area and maintain the health and safety of all participants and staff.
