Description

JOB SUMMARY: Focal point of communication for guests of the Lodge once they arrive, providing smooth professional check-in and the highest quality of customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with the Lodge guest registration computer system to perform all check-inandcheck-outfunctions.
  • Responsible for acash bank, collecting payments and reconciling this cash bank atthe end of every shift.
  • Answer the Lodge telephone system, understand the PBX (telephone) system and respondto all calls from in-house guests.
  • Issue room keys and assist guests with directions and Christie Lodge instructions.
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and all areaattractions in the absence of the concierge.
  • Maintain reports of room availability and guests' accounts.
  • Compute bill using correct billing procedures, post incidental charges such as fax, collectpayment and make change for guests.
  • Deposit guests' valuables in safety deposit boxes.
  • Maintain and provide guests with postage stamps.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and work days, evenings, weekends and holidaysas necessary.
  • Must possess good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, co-workersand management.
  • Ability to deal with irate guests in a calm, professional manner.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups ofmanagers, clients, customers, and general public.
  • Ability to be sensitive to owners/guests needs and wishes.
  • Problem solving skills:
    • Must be able to analyze the factors or causes contributing to the unwanted situation
    • Must be able to generate alternative interventions to achieve the desired result
    • Must be able to evaluate and come up with the best solutions, implement a plan toresolve the issue and assess the effectiveness of the plan and results.
  • Ability to handle concerns and criticism from others in a professional and diplomaticmanner.
  • Ability to follow instructions and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Should have sufficient computer skills that will allow the individual to be able to use, in aproficient manner, certain Company-issued Microsoft Office software programs that relateto the position.
  • Read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, policy and proceduremanuals.
  • Write and read correspondence, summaries, and reports in English using prescribedformat.
  • Ability to speak effectively in English before groups such as guests, employees andmanagement.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, ordiagram form.
  • Basic math skills are required: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions and percentages.
  • Fluency in English (verbal, written and reading) is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience/Knowledge:
  • Prior resort hotel Front Desk experience is preferred and/or equivalent guestservice experience in a hotel or resort environment of a similar size is required.
  • Prior experience working with hotel guest registration systems is a plus, but notrequired.
  • Must have skills and experience to use the internet to search for work relatedpurposes.
