Position Summary:
The Front Desk Admitter plays a crucial role in the patient experience by ensuring smooth intake and registration processes. This position is responsible for greeting and interviewing patients, verifying insurance and demographic information, scheduling appointments, and maintaining high standards of privacy and accuracy. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and help coordinate communication across departments to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and interview patients during check-in process
  • Accurately obtain, verify, and update demographic and insurance information
  • Ensure all authorizations, forms, and waivers are signed and filed appropriately
  • Verify identification and insurance cards for current and upcoming appointments
  • Schedule, confirm, and verify patient appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • Collect and process co-payments, issue receipts, and handle refunds or voids as needed
  • Ensure medical records requests are fulfilled promptly
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Maintain a 2% or less error rate in registration and billing tasks
  • Provide outstanding customer service while addressing patient and staff inquiries
  • Assist other departments as needed and perform all Front Office duties
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in admissions in a hospital or medical office setting
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology preferred
  • Proficiency in basic math, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Typing speed of 45 WPM and familiarity with 10-key preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changes in workload
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Willingness to travel to other SDMI facilities if needed
