French and Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:
- Teach several sections, with a combination of French and Spanish, to students in grades PreK-Grade 4.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve course curriculum as needed.
- Partner with colleagues to establish efficient grading and assessment practices.
- Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
- Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
- Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
- Offer learning recommendations and schedule intervention sessions for students requiring additional support.
- Teaching students about Spanish and French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
French and Spanish Teacher Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in Spanish, French or a related field.
- High proficiency in both Spanish and French.
- At least 2 years of previous teaching experience.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Willingness to work with lower school students.
- Passion for foreign language education.
- Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
- Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
