Job Description:
The FP&A Associate position is an opportunity to join a top performing private equity firm headquartered in Nashville, TN. As a key member of the company's Operations team, this individual will collaborate with portfolio companies and stakeholders to support financial reporting requirements and analytics. Primary Responsibilities:
Understand portfolio company performance and variances versus budget and prior year. Listen in to monthly and quarterly board meetings.
Create and/or improve analysis and metrics to support portfolio's EBITDA growth. Examples include analytics on margin expansion, pricing strategies, cost reduction initiatives, and net working capital improvement.
Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with CFOs, controllers and other financial staff of portfolio companies.
Support the implementation of a Corporate Performance Management (CPM) tool across the portfolio. Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and timely. With CPM data, publish standardized monthly reporting templates to internal stakeholders.
Contribute to valuation process. Manage historical financial data, forecasts, and MD&A required for quarterly and annual investment valuations.
Assist with building investor presentations and other materials that summarize and highlight company performance.
Coordinate company updates to potential returns assumptions with deal teams.
Various other tasks, projects and deadlines that arise in relation to above.
Ideal Background
2-4 years of work experience in finance. Exposure to manufacturing is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suit, particularly Excel. Experience with a Corporate Performance Management (CPM) tool is a plus (e.g. OneStream or Hyperion).
Ability to work in office at least 2 days per week.
Collaborative, goal-oriented, low ego.
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency. Proactive in helping find solutions.
