Foundry Design Engineer/Programmer: The engineer's responsibilities include enhancing existing pattern and core box tooling & gating designs and developing new ones. Write programs using PTC Creo CAD for pattern shop CNC. Complete solidification & flow analysis of castings using Solid Cast. Provide technical support to management staff for customer support and problem solving process issues. You should be able to collaborate with other engineers and manufacturing staff. To be successful as a design engineer/programmer, you should demonstrate superb attention to detail and be able to manage your time efficiently. Outstanding candidates should be deadline-driven, meticulous, and consistently produce high-quality work. A full understanding of foundry processes including taking a drawing and creating a pattern/corebox with appropriate drafts, finishes, and parting lines to produce an acceptable casting.



Tooling Engineer Responsibilities:



  • Using PTC Creo to design new tooling and analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them.
  • Sound understanding of foundry processes and casting & gating design.
  • Problem solving skills for foundry scrap and process issues.
  • Able to program and run CNC machine to produce pattern and core boxes.
  • Able to assist CMM/3D scanner with PPAP requirements or QE with Quality issues.
  • Sharing Ideas with colleagues and implementing any relevant feedback.
  • Creating pattern and core box designs & confirm gating design using PTC Creo, Finite Solutions, Solidification Software.
  • Scheduling meetings with Management as required.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the Engineering field by expanding networks.


Foundry Design Engineer/Programmer Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
