Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies make rockets, jets, and satellites 10x faster and 2x cheaper. Our CEO, Chris Power, discusses the importance of what we're building in this video.
We are a lean but mighty team (and growing.) people that are passionate about building critical infrastructure to support the nation and the advancement of humanity.
We've raised >$200m to achieve this vision, with multiple rounds from
Lux Capital, A16Z, Founders Fund, Construct Capital, Caffeinated Capital and more. We use AI and Robotics to automate and scale factories that are globally cost competitive and future-proof from the dramatic skilled labor shortage that is facing the Advanced Industrial Base.
Hadrian works with startups, Primes and Tier 1/2s in all markets to cost-down, scale or otherwise enable them to hit production rates on critical programs in Rocketry, Satellites, Shipbuilding, Commercial and Military aircraft and other core, mission critical industries.
The Role: We are looking for a versatile software engineer to support developing proof-of-concept applications and technology demonstrations for emerging manufacturing solutions. In this role, you will contribute to exploratory R&D efforts and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to evaluate and integrate technical solutions across various systems.
You will be hands-on in building functional prototypes, writing software across different layers of the stack, and working directly with customers to assess integration timelines, technical feasibility, and potential deployment pathways. This position blends forward-deployed engineering with systems thinking and rapid iteration in a fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: - Design and develop functional software prototypes that demonstrate core capabilities.
- Collaborate with technical and customer-facing teams to assess and integrate systems at external sites.
- Contribute to full-stack software development across a range of technologies.
- Communicate technical findings clearly to engineering, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Support on-site evaluations or deployments, with occasional travel as needed.
What We're Looking For: - Hands-on project experience in applied engineering fields (e.g., robotics, aerospace, automation).
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) or technical manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrated ability to support long-term R&D efforts with evolving requirements.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, C , JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and the role of software in enabling automation or process improvement.
What will set you apart: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) or technical manufacturing principles.
- Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles, consulting, or leadership within complex environments.
Benefits: - 100% coverage of platinum medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
- 401k
- Relocation stipend if you're moving from outside of LA
- Flexible vacation policy
