This team is responsible for supporting clients in the insurance sector-leveraging data to drive innovation and streamline operations in an industry that's ripe for transformation. As they expand, they're looking for top-tier engineers who are eager to be embedded on-site with customers, tackling high-impact challenges head-on.
What You Will Do As a
Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE), you'll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and client collaboration. Think of this role like a startup CTO embedded within a client team-you'll build tools, solve complex problems, and bring cutting-edge software to life in critical real-world settings.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing custom software solutions for insurance clients using a range of modern technologies
- Collaborating directly with customer teams to deeply understand their pain points and deliver impactful technical solutions
- Working across the full stack-data pipelines, APIs, front-end interfaces, and deployment infrastructure
- Contributing to product feedback and iteration cycles based on real-world usage and constraints
- Solving open-ended problems with minimal guidance, often in mission-critical settings
- Traveling (up to 25%) as needed for deployments, relationship building, and on-site problem-solving
Ideal Candidate Background - 1-4 years of post-college professional experience in software engineering or similar technical fields
- Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
- Strong internships or research experience in technical settings
- Proficient coder with experience in at least one of: Python, Java, C , JavaScript/TypeScript
- Passion for full-stack development and comfort working across layers of the tech stack
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to engage directly with clients
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by high-impact work that blends engineering with problem-solving
Preferred - Experience as a teaching assistant (TA) or peer mentor during college
- Demonstrated leadership or ownership in past internships or professional roles
- Prior experience in consulting, data-driven projects, or customer-facing technical roles
- Interest in the insurance industry and/or regulated sectors
- Previous exposure to complex data environments or enterprise software deployments
Compensation and Benefits - Base salary range: $135,000 - $200,000
