Forensics Network Administrator
Responsibilities: - Maintain the architectural frameworks/patterns, processes, standards and guidelines related to the ITFL's forensic network segment, forensic workstations and associated forensic software and hardware.
- Implement system design, configuration, and templates.
- Comply with security guidelines and mandates when configuring the network and workstations.
- Provide technical and software subject matter expertise to the forensic analysts.
- Troubleshoot problems.
- Explain network, workstation, and software functionality and configuration to other technical, security and forensic staff.
- Perform changes, routine maintenance and upgrades to ITFL systems.
- Test changes and upgrades for functionality and performance.
- Monitor system resource usage and availability.
Job Requirements
Required Skills: - 8+ years of experience in network and systems engineering or administration, preferably in a forensic or secure IT environment
- Knowledge of architectural frameworks, network segmentation, and system design with skills in creating and maintaining standardized frameworks, processes, and templates
- Experience with forensic software and hardware tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, X1 Social Discovery)
- Expertise in forensic workstation setups, storage devices, and digital investigation hardware
- Hands-on experience with server racks and hardware, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical infrastructure components
- Background in providing high-level technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT systems in a forensic setting
- Proven experience managing and maintaining IT systems, performing routine maintenance, applying upgrades, and monitoring system performance
- Experience in collaborative environments, providing technical guidance to forensic analysts, security teams, and IT staff
- Experience in resource monitoring and capacity planning in high-availability environments
Desired Skills: - Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Familiarity with testing protocols, change management processes, and resource monitoring tools
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and guide non-technical staff on system functionalities and configurations
- In-depth experience with compliance frameworks
- Knowledge of security policies, data protection laws, and compliance requirements for forensic IT systems
Must be Sole US Citizen The salary for this position ranges from $90,000.00 to $115,000.00 annually. The exact salary offered will depend on your qualifications, experience, and alignment with the responsibilities of the role.
