Electrician Welder Job Description
An Electrician Welder combines the skills of both electricians and welders to perform a variety of tasks. Here are the key responsibilities:
Welding:
- Use heavy machinery to melt and shape metal into desired forms
- Smooth and finish welded joints to ensure quality and safety
- Operate blowtorches or electrical heat devices to bond metal or other materials together or cut them apart
Electrician Tasks:
- Review blueprints and diagrams to understand electrical systems and welding procedures
- Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance in industrial settings
- Collaborate with industrial electricians and mechanics to address complex problems
Common Requirements:
- Completion of a Construction Electrician Course or equivalent training
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the field
- Proficiency in at least one of the basic crafts of electrician, millwright, fabricator, welder, or vehicle mechanic
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers
- Willingness to work overtime and adapt to changing project demands
Work Environment:
- Factory settings to manufacture products
- Construction sites, including electric substation projects
