Food Service Kitchen Manager
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma required.
  2. Possess the ability to keep records.
  3. Possess the ability to work with people and supervise kitchen Personnel.
  4. Possess knowledge of nutrition.
  5. Poessess prior experience in food services in a school setting
Terms of Employment:
  1. Notice of Assignment shall be for 9 months, 4 day school week and according to the school calendar.
  2. Compensation and leave benefits will be according to the adopted Classified Salary Schedule and experience.
  3. Those new to the district are required to have a background check as per board policy.
Reports To: Superintendent

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Kitchen Manager will:
  1. Supervise all kitchen employees, adults and/or student helpers.
  2. Helps cook, plan menus and have sufficient amounts of food on hand.
  3. The Manager will on a daily basis complete production sheets on all foodstuffs, government and otherwise, used in preparation of the meal for that day. This information you will need to give to the Superintendent.
  4. On a monthly basis, submit to the Food Services Director an inventory of freezer and storage areas.
  5. Assume responsibility for cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
  6. Responsible for getting a substitute for kitchen staff absences.
  7. Be responsible for the daily opening, closing and locking of the kitchen.
  8. Be responsible to the Superintendent for carrying out all school lunch, FF or CDE policies.
  9. Report any accident; break in, losses or missing items immediately.
  10. Report any problem connected with the lunch program involving the school, teachers or students to the Principal and Superintendent.
  11. Hold all keys to the kitchen and related areas and give only to authorized personnel as needed.
  12. Should be sensitive to likes and dislikes of children, plan menus cooperatively with the Superintendent that provide wholesome meals and prepare meals that will result in minimal waste and at a cost consistent with district resources.
  13. Keep abreast of all State and National school lunch regulations.
  14. Attend such state and regional meetings as may be deemed appropriate to the District.
  15. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
  16. Comply with Genoa-Hugo board policy
  17. Lifting requirement of a minimum of 50lbs.
  18. Compile food orders and give to the director in a timely fashion. These are weekly and for each rotation.
