FOOD SERVICE WORKER REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager
PAY TYPE: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Classified, Non-Supervisory
PAY RATE: Starting at $14 / hr.
BENEFITS: Eligible for benefits dependent upon hours worked (see attachment)
SCHEDULE: 188 days; Part-time & full-time; Up to 8 hrs. / day

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assists in the preparation, serving, and selling of foods inside a school cafeteria
- Assists in the cleaning of the kitchen and snack bar areas
- Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of utensils and equipment
- May also assist receiving cash or tickets and maintaining simple records
- Attends all mandatory training
- Maintains proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Willing to perform all duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager which may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Cashiering
- Serving
- Preparing Food
- Washing Dishes
- Cleaning
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: - Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience in a Food Service environment (Schools preferred)
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work as a team with other staff
- Displays dependability and punctuality
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and stand on feet for long periods of time
WORKING CONDITIONS: - Position works indoors in a typical school cafeteria/kitchen area
- May work near others, often within a few feet
- Often will be exposed to noisy and distracting environments
- Often will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures
- Occasionally will work near contaminants and hazardous equipment
