Food Service Worker

Pay Range: $20.00-$24.00

Location: Fridley

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 12:30pm

Hours: 20 hours per week, eligible for all benefits including medical insurance

The Community Support Program (CSP) will offer walk-in access to recovery-focused services that promote wellness, stability, and independence. Participants will receive support with goals, benefits, employment, housing, life skills, mental health education, peer groups, and community activities that emphasize connection and belonging. On-site, members can access meals, showers, laundry, fitness, and creative arts interventions.

Food Service Worker Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve one meal per day, up to 20 members per day, in a shared kitchen
  • Prepare extra meals in advance to be served on weekends
  • Follow recipes and menus as provided by Nutrition Services Supervisor
  • Follow food safety requirements for preparing, cooking, and storing foods
  • Maintain a clean kitchen and dining area
  • Assist with placing orders and putting orders away
  • Purchase food from a grocery store as needed
  • Assist other programs with meal preparation
  • Establish supportive and motivational relationships with members
  • Maintain member records in the electronic health record system
  • Collaborate with other staff members, consultants, interns, and/or volunteers
Food Service Worker Requirements:
  • Must have ServSafe Certification (or wilingness to obtain ServSafe Certification upon hire)
  • Must qualify as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker or Mental Health Practitioner per DHS licensing requirements
  • Must have at least one year of full-time experience in the human services, at least 3 years of experience as a primary caregiver, at least 3 years of personal life experience with mental illness, at least 15 college semester credits, or an Associate of Arts degree in any field.
  • Must have experience preparing and serving group meals.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Experience working in a shared kitchen strongly preferred
  • Experience adjusting recipes and creating menus preferred
  • Experience working in a drop-in center preferred
