SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Food Service Worker I performs routine food preparation and related work associated with the operations of a school district food service program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: - Some knowledge of proper methods of serving food and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances.
- Some knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances.
- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Must be willing and able to transport items between schools.
- Must be able to lift 20-50lbs.
- Serve Safe certification preferred.
EDUCATION, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or completion of a standard high school course or an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skill and ability.
CERTIFICATE LICENSE: Not required.
WORK SCHEDULE: School Year, Monday - Friday, 4.75 hours per day.
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
WAGE: $15.00 per hour to start and higher wage commensurate with years of experience in same or similar industry.
