SUMMARY: ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Spruill Avenue). We are looking fora dependable and knowledgeable Food Service Lead to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to food service personnel; oversee job duties and the completion of assigned tasks for a team of 40 + staff members
  • Must have knowledge of all front and back of the house positions to include stock and janitorial services.
  • Effectively communicate with the director; provide immediate resolve to customer needs.
  • Open and close the dining hall daily, ensuring safety and security of facility.
  • Maintain familiarity with the electronic point of sales system, including cash registers, scanners, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist in preparation of work schedules and resolve scheduling problems; may be responsible to assign and monitor employee breaks.
  • Provide input to the Director/ Asst. Director and Head Chef concerning the performance of subordinate Food Service Workers to allow accurate and fair evaluation of their performance.
  • May be asked to oversee the preparation of food items in accordance with the established menu. Inspect cooking, serving, and sanitation methods to ensure that finished products meet established standards for appearance, quality, and portion size.
  • Enforce health and safety codes including proper food and supply prep and storage.
  • Verify the completion of daily production, waste, and temperature records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the director.
Requirements:
  • 2 years supervision experience in the restaurant, food and beverage work force.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, team build, and problem solve.
  • Must have full schedule availability with weekend, night, and holiday availability.
  • Must be able to work an open schedule (flexible)
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Point of Sale Technology.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Valid Serv Safe Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, walk and reach above the neck for extended periods of time.
