Overview
Food Service Lead Full Time: 10:00am-6:30pm Bettendorf, IA Works with the Manager of Nutrition and Environmental Services. Performs tasks of moderate difficulty in a variety of supervisory roles to ensure a high standard of food service, cleaning and safety for our customers. Handles day to day operational issues. Directly supervises 1 to 40 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws/or regulations. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting with appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsibilities
Key Accountability: Operational Support - Schedules staff and assigns tasks to employees
- Adjusts schedules according to call-ins, special projects, meetings or other operational needs
- Interprets work orders for employees and assigns duties.
- Studies production schedules and estimates time required for completion of job assignment
- Monitors employee breaks and lunches for time allowance compliance.
- Interprets and enforces company policies/procedures for employees and enforces safety regulations.
- Works with managers for employee timekeeping (Kronos)
- Works with vendors to resolve product or equipment issues
- Available for overtime and weekends for additional coverage when needed.
Key Accountability: Quality Assurance and Environment of Care - Understands every job schedule for which is responsible and makes sure all schedules are followed.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to standards.
- Resolves quality issues in real-time
- Conducts quality assurance inspections and assures departmental logs are completed
- Places work orders as needed.
- Ensures staff have products and equipment to do job
- Communicates with nursing and other departments to ensure customer's needs are met
- Helps identify departmental quality improvement initiatives
Key Accountability: Employee Development - Plans and conducts departmental orientation and training
- Initiates or suggests plan to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
- Resolves employees' problems or refers matters to EVS Manager, Director of Patient Support or Human Resources.
- Gains knowledge of employees' strengths and weaknesses
- Assists manager with coaching/counseling and Step 1 and II Corrective actions
- Assists with competency evaluation
- Ensures completion of staff Net Learning
- Schedules training and recommends employees for career ladder move
- Assists with interviewing potential job candidates
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED
License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Illinois Certified Sanitation Certificate must be obtained within 6 mos. of hire.
