Salary: $16.00/hour

Position Description: - General kitchen work including but not limited to preparation of foods, dishing/portioning of foods, set up of serving lines, cashing, serving, and clean up of serving lines, and kitchen areas including washing pots and pans.
- Participate in the maintenance of acceptable health, safety and sanitary practices as required by various regulatory agencies.
- Participate in the care and safe operation of the equipment assigned to the School Food Service program.
- Assist with cleaning of ranges, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, and other food service equipment as directed.
Responsibilities/Skills May Include: - Sufficient communication skills, manual dexterity and ability to perform food service skills under time constraints without close supervision
- Ability to safely operate, clean, and maintain utensils and equipment used in a school kitchen;
- Ability to follow written recipes and menus as provided;
- Adhere to sanitation requirements in the handling and preparation of food;
- Use approved chemicals safely and according to directions on container;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
- Sufficient cash handling skills to function as a cashier and operate a cash register
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job including: standing on hard floors for long periods while performing duties; lifting maximum of 30 lbs. without assistance from others; bending over to wipe spills or pick up items from floor; withstanding extremes in kitchen temperature and humidity; washing pots and pans over deep sinks using detergents that may be more caustic than those used as home; sweeping floors.
