POSITION: Food Service Driver & Inventory Specialist

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional training or experience related to food safety, logistics, or inventory management is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or equivalent) must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food service, delivery, or inventory management.
- At least 5 years of experience operating delivery vehicles (e.g., box trucks, vans) and handling deliveries preferred.
- Comfortable working with technology and willing to learn new systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading deliveries.
- Ability to safely operate a delivery vehicle and adhere to transportation regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with school staff, vendors, and district stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Adaptability to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to accept direction from supervisors and follow through with tasks.
- Satisfactory past attendance and job performance required.
- Must pass a drug test upon hire and, if required, at any time during employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May include, but not limited to:
- Transport food service supplies and equipment between district sites daily and for special events or functions as needed.
- Pick up products from suppliers and assist with unloading delivery trucks.
- Conduct regular physical inventory of supplies in the supply warehouse, support asset, food, and supply inventory efforts in school kitchens and outdoor coolers and/or upon request, ensuring accurate records and timely reporting.
- Maintain an organized and clean environment, including ensuring delivery trucks are well-kept, stocked, and safe for use.
- Perform physical tasks, including bending, overhead work, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Assist with other district delivery tasks as assigned, supporting the efficient operation of the school food & nutrition program.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and dependability to ensure consistent service to school sites.
- Work independently with high efficiency, managing time effectively to meet delivery and inventory deadlines.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food and supplies to maintain quality, safety, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with school nutrition staff to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and report any discrepancies in deliveries, inventory levels, or food quality, communicating with management or suppliers as needed.
- Assist in the preparation and setup of special events, such as catering for district functions, ensuring food and supplies are delivered and arranged according to specifications.
- Follow established delivery routes and schedules, ensuring all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with district guidelines.
