Immediate Opening: Full-Time Cook, 6:30am to 2:30pm. The position does not require nights, weekends, or holidays. Competitive pay and benefits: medical and dental insurance, 8 days of Paid Time Off, 20 paid days for school year breaks and holidays. Summers off with opportunities to work, but not guaranteed.

Job Description

Title: Food Service, Cook
Reports To: Director, Food Service
Employee Type: Full-Time, School Year Only, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Essential Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast and lunch daily.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all food service contact areas.
  • Accountable for the appropriate rotation of all products to ensure freshness and safety using the FIFO system.
  • Maintains log of refrigerator and freezer temperatures to ensure food safety.
  • Responsible for recording all food temperatures to ensure safe food handling
  • Follows the rules and regulations of the Food Service Department, National School Lunch Program and the Department of Health.
  • Assumes other responsibilities assigned by supervisor and/or school administrator
  • Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students' information.
  • Abides by the CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies and procedures, and all current PA Public School expectations
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Food service experience, preferably in a high volume environment or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow menu and nutritional guidelines.
  • Must have basic computer skills with MS office or equivalent software.
  • Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt. Meet criteria for employment in a PA Public School
