Lad Lake is a COA-accredited, nonprofit, independent organization serving kids and families from across the state. We work with 1,200+ youths and their families through evidence-based, trauma-informed programs at three Southeastern Wisconsin campuses. Our mission is to guide growth, and diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the center of everything we do.

We're seeking a dedicated Food Service Cook who's passionate about good food and making a real difference in young people's lives.

What a day in the life of a Food Service Cook looks like:

• Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals based on set menus and dietary guidelines.

• Ensure every meal meets food safety, sanitation, and DPI nutritional standards.

• Collaborate with team members to create a positive and supportive dining experience.

• Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies.

• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly.

• Engage with youth during mealtimes and contribute to a nurturing environment.

• Occasionally assist with nutrition-based programming or activities for residents.

• Attend staff meetings and contribute ideas to enhance meal service

What you bring to the table:

• Available Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and every third weekend from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

• Prior cooking or food service experience (preferred)

• Knowledge of food safety, DPI nutritional standards, and youth dietary needs

• A calm, supportive presence and positive attitude

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be at least 21 years old

• High school diploma or GED

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
