Summary of Duties
Prepares and serves quality food to students and other activities related to food service in an efficient and pleasant manner to meet delivery and service schedule.

Director of Food Service
Qualifications/Requirements
• Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• Ability to complete training in food safety including ServSafe, Employer Environmental training, food allergies, USDA regulations and school policies
• Assists with quantity food preparation using correct portioning and meeting USDA standards
• Assists with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met according to local health department regulations
• Sets up breaks and breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, ala carte, etc)
• Operates cash register and assigned food service equipment
• Counts money, makes change, and completes related reports accurately
• Serves meals to students and staff in a friendly and pleasant manner
• Requisitions supplies as needed from main kitchen
• Possess knowledge and ability for time and temperature control
• Ability to ensure proper food presentation and standard portion control and food safety procedures
• Reports inferior quality of food or faulty equipment to the appropriate authority
• Maintains production records according to USDA regulations
• Safely and efficiently, operate and work around commercial food preparation equipment following all employee safety policies
Compensation
Per DESPA Union Contract. (This a union position)
