Gpac has an exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Quality Manager in Long Island, NY.
This position is based at the corporate office of a company that produces sliced meat for one of the largest big-box stores in America. They are recession-proof and have emerged stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic, with two facilities already running 24/7 and a third on the way. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring quality and food safety standards are met for food, beverage, ingredients, and supply items co-manufactured and co-packed by our suppliers through document verifications and periodic facility audits.
Skills Required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food production and processing.
- Basic culinary knowledge related to equipment and technical skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and Serve Safe Certification.
- Auditing/consulting experience or familiarity with these processes (Department of Health audits, FSSC, AIB, etc.).
- Previous experience working with the FDA and USDA.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with a proven ability to influence and drive constructive change across multiple levels.
- Strong bias for action, with the ability to see opportunities/risks early and take appropriate actions.
- Previous experience working in a Ready-to-Eat (RTE) and processing plant environment.
- Highly organized and self-motivated with a passion for auditing.
- Ability to work independently and travel up to 40% of the time (nationwide).
- Understanding of production equipment and processing services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pay Range: $80k to $100k
