This role requires a proactive leader skilled in implementing and maintaining FSQA systems, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to industry and internal safety standards. If you are a hands-on supervisor with a background in food manufacturing and a passion for driving excellence in food safety, this opportunity is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
FSQA Program Management: Partner with the FSQA Manager to implement FSQA systems, processes, and procedures across production and distribution facilities, ensuring a consistent commitment to food safety standards.
Audit Oversight and Compliance Monitoring: Perform scheduled food safety audits to assess facility compliance with food safety programs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and regulatory standards. Manage GMP compliance, including PPE adherence, sanitation practices, and employee behavior.
Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement: Identify non-compliant practices on the production floor, propose corrective actions, and collaborate with production leaders to implement improvements. Maintain detailed documentation of findings and corrective measures.
Sanitation and Supply Compliance: Ensure production floor sanitation standards and manage compliance with sanitizer and PPE availability at facility entry points. Oversee employee practices for maintaining hygiene when entering and exiting specific facility areas.
Environmental Monitoring and Swabbing: Conduct environmental swabbing to monitor facility hygiene and create corrective action reports. Document and trend data to track compliance and address deviations.
Training and SOP Management: Deliver food safety training to production teams, update SOPs, and manage documentation for all training sessions. Ensure production staff is fully trained in GMP, HACCP, and company safety policies.
Data Entry and Customer Complaint Tracking: Record, trend, and analyze customer complaints, supporting the FSQA Manager in investigating claims. Provide insights on trends to drive improvements.
Mock Recalls and Incident Response: Support mock recall exercises and maintain up-to-date recall documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage incidents like foreign material contamination or temperature control issues.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 3-5 years in quality control, food safety auditing, or quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment. Supervisory experience in quality or food safety is a strong advantage.
Certification: HACCP certification is required; familiarity with FDA, USDA, and Department of Health standards is preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
