Job Overview:
As an Operations Supervisor in the Food & Beverage Department, you will oversee the daily food operations at Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park, ensuring that service, quality, and integrity standards are maintained. You will coordinate and direct the activities of Area Supervisors to promote operational efficiency, maintain appropriate staffing levels, and develop and implement employee retention programs to boost morale and productivity. Additionally, you will oversee the documentation and performance evaluations for seasonal staff and leadership.
This position reports to the Food & Beverage Manager through the Food & Beverage Kitchen Manager.
Part Time Seasonal Employee - 1900 hours annually.
40 hours a week during summer operation. 16-32 hours a week during spring/fall operation and/or in accordance to business needs.
Rate Range is $23 -$26 based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train, direct, schedule, evaluate, and discipline staff using appropriate documentation.
- Provide associates with necessary information and tools to perform their jobs effectively.
- Ensure subordinates are trained in all facets of operations, including service procedures, production flow, equipment usage, and cleaning.
- Review departmental needs regularly and assign daily schedules and tasks to ensure efficient operation.
- Maintain clear lines of communication between management, associates, and other departments.
- Respond to and resolve concerns and complaints from park guests and associates.
- Perform guest service and food product quality control evaluations.
- Ensure that procedures to prevent theft by guests and employees, including product theft and time theft, are followed and enforced.
- Ensure operations stay within budget guidelines. This applies to controlling cost of goods, theft, and labor and meeting revenue/per cap goals of department as set.
- Monitor and enforce safety procedures. Ensures that all work, guest, storage and service areas are cleaned in a timely manner and meet local and state sanitation guidelines.
- Complete administrative paperwork as necessary. (ie time sheets, schedules, labor reports, evaluations, and associate file documents)
- Notify maintenance of equipment/building issues and updates department manager of any ongoing equipment issues.
- Cover 210 Foods Department role on a regular basis. This will include consistently moving throughout the park of to maintain awareness of total operation.
- Handle and assist in emergency situations as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to complete Food and Beverage training program and pass ServSafe Manager, ServSafe Allergen, and RBS training within 30 days of hire.
- 2 years' experience minimum in related experience in food & beverage management or supervisory role.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to work well with and lead other people.
- Ability to meet Gilroy Gardens availability and attendance requirements as outlined in Gilroy Gardens attendance policies.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
