RIOMAR COUNTRY CLUB in Vero Beach, Florida seeks an experienced, high energy, hands on and creative FOOD & BEVERAGE DIRECTOR for its member-owned golf and beach club.


Founded in 1919, Riomar is one of the oldest clubs in the state of Florida, has approximately 315 members, is highly seasonal with most members in-residence from October through May and has a robust summer membership program. The Club is situated directly on the Atlantic Ocean in southern Indian River County and has one 18-hole golf course (no tee times), a recently rebuilt clubhouse and a beach club.


Vero Beach is home to some of the most pristine beaches, unspoiled parks, and championship golf courses in the state and is a popular winter retreat for northern residents. Memberships are offered on an invitation basis and only through friends of friends. The character, quality and generosity of the membership are second to none. Members enjoy a very active lifestyle and are very supportive of their club.


As a result of strong member support, Riomar's Food & Beverage department is budgeted for $2,000,000 in sales this year. The successful candidate will be hands-on and responsible for the entire front of the house food and beverage operation including staff recruitment and training, management of multiple lunch and dinner outlets, beverage management, special event and catering management, purchasing and inventory and budgeting, with a special emphasis on quality of service. The position has direct responsibility for all front of the house supervisors and service staff.


A degree in hospitality or a related field is desirable but not necessary. A minimum of three years management or supervisory experience in private country club is required. The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills, be team-oriented and have an understanding of country club operations. The Food & Beverage Director must be visible, energetic and a motivated self-starter with strong leadership skills. Excellent communication, financial management, organization, point of sale and time management skills are important to the success of this position as is the ability to deal with people, both the membership and staff. Riomar currently uses the Clubessential point of sale system. Prior experience with Clubessential is a plus, but not required.


This position reports directly to the General Manager.
