Qualifications:
Essential:
- High School or equivalent.
- 2 years of Food & Beverage experience, minimum of 6 months experience in a Supervisor/Lead role in an upscale restaurant or luxury hotel/resort.
- Previous server experience. Knowledge of various food service styles.
- Excellent understanding of steps of service.
- Excellent guest service skills and passion for hospitality.
- Ability to satisfactory read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to provide legible communication.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
- Proficiency with restaurant POS systems, OpenTable, Outlook, Word and Excel programs.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to perform consistent work to the hotels high standards.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Desirable:
- College degree, preferably in Hospitality or Culinary Management.
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
- Fluent in a secondary language.
Qualifications- Consistently provide friendly, engaging and anticipatory guest service and heartfelt hospitality.
- Assist in maintaining complete knowledge of:
- All liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in F&B outlets.
- Designated glassware and garnishes for drinks.
- All garnishes and allergens
- All menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.
- Daily menu specials, 86'd items.
- Outlet layouts, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code.
- Micros and manual system procedures.
- Daily house count, arrivals/departures, VIP's.
- Scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
- Correct maintenance and use of equipment.
- All department policies/service procedures.
- Assist F&B Managers overseeing staff on shift and ensure proper staffing levels. Helps in coordinate activities of all Food & Beverage employees engaged in providing meals and/or beverages to guests.
- Assist Food & Beverage Management in implementing and administering established procedures.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Food and Beverage Department.
- Assist in preparing, adjusting and posting schedules weekly and as needed.
- Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Rectify any cleanliness/organization efficiencies immediately.
- Complete requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business.
- Assist with monthly food, liquor, beer, and wine inventory.
- Assist with pre-shift meeting/line-ups with staff and review all information pertinent to the day's business.
- Assist in inspecting grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies.
- Assist in inspecting outlet set-ups; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement to departmental standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests. Promote positive guest relations at all times.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry.
- Monitor and handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Check the status of all orders and ensure that they are delivered within designated timelines.
- Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
- Promote luxury guest satisfaction throughout the outlets.
- Keep immediate Restaurant Managers fully informed of all problems or matters requiring their attention.
- Keep log of all amenities.
- Assist outlet staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Answer in-room dining phones using appropriate etiquette and receive orders.
- Set trays and tables according to specifications. Serve drinks and meals according to service standards while managing guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.
- Add any additional items to order before it is delivered (condiments, salad dressings, steak knife, etc.).
- Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
- Advise managers of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Maintain cleanliness or all Food & Beverage outlet areas. Maintain full knowledge of and comply with food safety and sanitation policies at all times.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.
- Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
