Model Based System Engineers - Simulink
Location: Warton
Contract: 12 Months
Rate: £60.00 PAYE or £81.05 per hour Umbrella inside IR35
Onsite: 3 - 4 days per week
About the Role
BAE Systems is seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer - Simulink to join the Dreadnought submarine programme, a key defence project in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate Model-Based Design (MBD) for the system, collaborating with Control & Instrumentation (C&I), Platform Mechanical, and Software teams.
- Design and develop human-machine interfaces (HMI), situational awareness systems, and systems for health and data management.
- Capture system control requirements and produce high-level concepts and detailed design models.
- Contribute to verification and validation of system requirements.
- Document design decisions and contribute to safety analysis.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements and objectives.
- Support the professional development of junior engineers through guidance and coaching.
- Participate in the full systems engineering lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Display & Controls, Systems Health, or Data Management-related Systems Engineering, preferably in marine, aerospace, or similar industries.
- Proficiency with MathWorks Simulink and Simulink Test, applying Model-Based Systems Engineering principles.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Mission Systems (Displays & Controls or Monitoring & Recording) and Functional Architecture.
- Knowledge of Flight or Marine Systems.
