The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept flooring throughout all common areas of the long-term care facility. This position ensures a hazard-free environment that supports the mobility and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in common areas according to schedule.
• Perform floor buffing, waxing, and deep cleaning as required.
• Operate industrial floor care equipment such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers.
• Remove waste and trash from assigned areas.
• Place caution signs during cleaning tasks to prevent accidents.
• Maintain hallways, entrances, ramps, emergency exits, and outdoor access areas clean and clear.
• Conduct routine floor inspections to identify fall risks or unsafe conditions.
• Assist with moving furniture for deep cleaning or internal events.
• Report any unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
• Load, organize, and maintain assigned equipment and supplies.
• Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and machinery.

Physical Demands
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
