Job Summary
The Flock Services Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all Flock Services activities across Center Fresh locations. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of chick placement, pullet vaccination, and other essential flock services, contributing to the organization's goal of becoming the premier egg producer. The manager will report to the Pullet Production Manager and play a key role in optimizing operations and ensuring compliance with safety and animal welfare standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Direct and coordinate activities related to chick placement, pullet vaccination, and the transfer of pullets to layer houses.
- Manage the movement of spent hens and the cleaning of barns between flocks.
- Schedule Flock Services activities in collaboration with Support Operations and the General Manager, guided by the Center Fresh Master Schedule.
- Coordinate logistics and materials for Flock Services activities, including scheduling spent hen movements with receiving customers.
- Train employees and contract service providers on biosecurity, safety, animal welfare compliance, and human trafficking awareness, ensuring adherence in all areas.
- Lead, develop, and train employees in the proper performance of their duties.
- Perform administrative tasks such as payroll submission and compliance reporting within specified deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with reading and writing comprehension.
- Proven experience as a Servant Leader
- Strong initiative, leadership, and management skills
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and maintain schedules
- Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees or certifications in a related field
- Experience in the agricultural or poultry industry
- Additional certifications or language skills
Work Environment
This role is fast-paced and involves time-sensitive activities that impact various areas of Center Fresh operations. The work environment may include occasional standing, walking, and reaching, with the need to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
