JT4 LLC is looking for a Flight Termination Systems Engineer to install, operate, and maintain Flight Termination Systems (FTS) to include antennas, data communication equipment, and network equipment along with sustaining projects and program management. This is a key position with high visibility to effectively communicate complex technical engineering principles to stake holders. Company Profile JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY

Essential Functions/Duties This position requires an Engineer with expertise operating and maintaining Flight Termination Systems (FTS). This individual shall serve as the technical lead for the development, integration, and test of a new FTS for the China Lake Range. Duties include operating the FTS system as well as installing and maintaining the antennas, support equipment, and networking equipment to support mission and data communications requirements. This individual shall be responsible for the developing the long term sustainment of the FTS. The primary role requires development engineering knowledge with minor networking and programming skills. Duties include working with customers to identify system requirements and specifications, design, develop, implement and test applications, support fielding and analysis of applications, document, maintain configuration changes in a disciplined engineering environment. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Range Requirements

• Flight Termination System knowledge of systems and components

• Familiarity with RCC-391, RE-102, CE-106 standards

• Computer and control system design basics

• FTS transmitting and receiving antenna system design basics

• Basic network fundamentals used in remote system setup and operation

• RF and test equipment used in the test and checkout of ground based FTS equipment and systems

• Transmitting antenna systems (e.g. iNET)

• RF link analysis and the generation of analysis reports

• Technical writing skills

• Utilization of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) programs for system documentation (i.e. AutoCAD)

• Software development skills for use in requirements development and system development

• Program Management experience or training

• Current SECRET clearance Requirements Education, Technical, and Work Experience Note: Multiple levels will be considered for this position. Level I: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution is required for this position. Level II: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and two years of related engineering experience or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering are required for this position. Level III: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and four years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of two years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering are required for this position. Level IV: A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and eight years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of six years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum four years of related engineering experience are required for this position. In addition, an Engineer IV must possess the following qualifications:

• Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components

• Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area

• Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools

• Well-developed leadership skills

• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospective

• Excellent communication and analytical skills

• Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines. Working Conditions Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required. Travel to remote company work locations may be required. Salary The expected salary range for this position is $76,366.76 to $184,092.48 annually. The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
