SUMMARY: Join our dynamic team as a Flex PCB Design Application Engineer, where you will provide expert design-in support for Flex PCB assemblies. This role involves collaborating closely with customers to develop detailed designs and optimize processes while enhancing the overall value engineering. You will have the opportunity to visit customers regularly to assess their design needs, provide product application training, and support our marketing and sales initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Design Flex PCB Assemblies from initial concept through to volume production.
  • Create and provide drawing support for customers through 3D Models, sketches, and customer drawings.
  • Cultivate relationships with key clients to identify and tap into new market opportunities.
  • Work with management, production, and sales teams to determine engineering feasibility and align with customer demand for both new and existing products.
  • Guide the design and fabrication of prototypes, models, or samples.
  • Assess material suitability against performance requirements.
  • Analyze cost factors to meet customer specifications and recommend appropriate pricing strategies.
  • Review customer requirements and propose value engineering alternatives.
  • Define new design and process requirements including material usage, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Develop necessary AirBorn part numbers.
  • Provide technical and design support at customer facilities, integrating new products effectively.
  • Conduct and present engaging product marketing presentations for customers.
  • Lead product application training sessions and offer technical assistance to Sales and Marketing teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five to ten years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Cadence ORCAD, Altium Designer, CREO, and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Capability to write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Adept at presenting information and addressing questions from diverse audiences including managers and clients.
  • Mathematical aptitude to calculate discounts, commissions, and other financial figures.
  • Understanding of basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Ability to identify and solve practical problems in various situations.
  • Competence in interpreting a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
