Overview of the Fleet/Safety Coordinator Role:

The Fleet/Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire fleet, collaborating closely with field teams and external vendors to ensure all assets are in optimal working condition and up to date with their registrations. Key responsibilities of the Fleet/Safety Coordinator include:
  • Oversee fleet asset management, including registration renewals, servicing, and tracking, ensuring assets remain current.
  • Handle vehicle service requests, review quotes, and coordinate drop-offs and pick-ups for maintenance.
  • Schedule and track preventative maintenance inspections for all fleet vehicles.
  • Manage the company's GPS system, monitoring speed, preventing personal usage, and ensuring overall fleet safety.
  • Support the development and implementation of fleet and safety policies and procedures.
  • Track repair costs for damaged trucks and collaborate with HR and field leaders to hold team members accountable for preventable incidents.
  • Assist in organizing weekly safety meetings and ensure signed checklists are submitted from all markets.
  • Coordinate safety training with vendors to prioritize safety across the team.
  • Contribute to the creation and enforcement of company safety policies for equipment operation.
  • Manage auto incident claims in collaboration with carriers and brokers.
Qualifications for the Fleet/Safety Coordinator Role:
  • An AA or AS degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience with fleet is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills for effective interaction with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs and experience with NetSuite or QuickBooks are bonuses.
  • A proactive desire to learn new systems and continually improve efficiency.
