About The Clubhouse Network: The Clubhouse Network, headquartered in Nubian Square, Roxbury, is a global community of over 150 Clubhouse locations in 21 countries. Founded 31 years ago in collaboration with researchers from MIT Lifelong Kindergarten, The Clubhouse Network supports community-based organizations by providing start-up support, professional development, new technology, programming innovations, evaluation and assessment, partnership opportunities, and access to a community for youth, mentors, and staff. The Clubhouse Network also operates the Flagship Clubhouse in Nubian Square, Roxbury, a creative out-of-school learning environment where teens work with adult mentors to explore their ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in themselves through technology. A free drop-in program, the Flagship Clubhouse engages youth in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math) activities in ways that are relevant and meaningful to them. It also serves as a training model and "Flagship" site for the global Clubhouse community.

Position Summary:

The Flagship Clubhouse Program Manager is responsible for managing programming activities, on behalf of the Flagship Clubhouse in Nubian Square, Roxbury, so that it serves as a safe, creative learning environment for Clubhouse youth participants. The role entails conducting outreach and connecting with youth, families, volunteers within the community and surrounding areas, supporting youth in developing self-directed STEAM-rich projects based on their ideas and interests, and supervising other Flagship staff, consultants, and volunteer mentors. In addition, this newly expanded role will incorporate developing collaborations with local community partners and overseeing the volunteer mentor program, to enhance student engagement and exposure to STEM and strengthen community awareness. The Flagship Clubhouse Program Manager and is also responsible for ensuring that the "flagship" Clubhouse sets the standard as a model for The Clubhouse Network and as a mentoring training and programming site. They will also represent the Clubhouse and serve as an ambassador with funders, partners, and special interest groups.

Essential Functions of the Flagship Clubhouse Program Manager: (The following is a list of essential functions, which may be subject to change at any time and without advance notice.   • Provide outreach to young people, parents, educators, and community leaders to ensure visibility and recognition for The Clubhouse as a community resource for youth from inner-city Boston neighborhoods.
  • Maintain The Clubhouse learning model's fidelity and integrity and integrate STEM program expansions and TCN innovations.
  • Help youth discover STEM project ideas by introducing new technology applications and activities while supporting them in coming up with ideas, gathering materials, getting started, connecting with mentors and collaborators, and following through on their ongoing work.
  • Establish recruitment relationships with local organizations such as local employers, professional affinity groups, colleges and universities, local chapters of national mentor organizations, and from within TCN's global alumni network.
  • Recruit, onboard and supervise volunteer mentors, Recruit, onboard, and supervise volunteer mentors, ensuring each mentor completes the necessary security background checks, is onboarded according to TCN's mentoring standards, and is provided with the essential tools and resources to engage effectively with youth members.
  • Provides thought-leadership for the development and implementation of college and career programming from enrollment to post-placement; developing a theory of change for members, strengthening tracking process; developing intentional career exposure workshops, pathways to employer-based training programs; integrated TCN program partners including CISCO IT, Xperiential, Intel VR/Ai, PLS, and any new career readiness learning opportunities into the Flagship programming.
  • Serves as a thought partner supporting members' goal-setting process, including supporting activities that expose members to academic and job opportunities that leverage their Clubhouse skills and experience.
  • Supervise part-time staff and trainers (paid and volunteer) to support the amplification of youth voices through soft-skills development, advocacy, and leadership of young people while contextualizing technology as a tool for learning and self-expression.
  • Assist fund-raising and generating awareness for The Clubhouse, communicating Clubhouse philosophy, goals, and results to external sources, and providing content for the Clubhouse's social media site as a showcase for young people's work and as a model for others.
  • Provide administrative leadership for the Clubhouse program, including space design and maintenance; maintain data collection records of members, volunteers, and partners; keep the Clubhouse space risk-free and safe; and ensure the operational integrity of the Clubhouse during duty hours.
  • Participate in The Clubhouse Network, attending virtual meetings and in-person Annual Conference, sharing ideas and issues, and supporting collaborative projects across Clubhouses.
  • Manage, promote, and recruit members for the "Girls' Day" program to provide young women with STEM-rich activities that are relevant and meaningful to them and encourage them to take on leadership roles in the Clubhouse.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Experience/Qualifications:
  • Evidence of commitment to Clubhouse's mission, including youth leadership, youth development, social justice action, and racial equity and inclusion.
  • Proven track record working with youth, particularly those from underserved neighborhoods.
  • Demonstrated ability to market to youth, parents, community leaders, and employers.
  • Work experience in an informal learning environment.
  • Experience working with volunteer mentors.
  • Evidence of interest in technology as a creative and empowering tool, including music, art, video production, robotics, web development, computer game design, animation, and engineering.
  • A passion for learning and helping others learn.
  • Project management experience: ability to plan and execute in keeping with program expectations.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere), web design tools, and other design-based software.
Requirements:

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

While performing this job's duties, the employee must talk and hear regularly. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. The employee must move inside and outside the office to access file cabinets and office equipment and meet with community partners at different sites. The position requires occasionally lifting office products and supplies up to 50 pounds and traveling to various locations for meetings.
