The Director is responsible for leading and supervising the three Fitness Center Programs and Operations of Cross Creek. The Fitness Director functions as the operational backbone of our 3 facilities overseeing the complete spectrum of staffing needs, program coordination, and operational logistics.
The Director is responsible for communicating to the Risher Operations Team and staff and facilitating the implementation of all expected policies and procedures. The Director assists their supervisor and acts as the primary liaison between the company, and the client company. The Director also represents and advocates to the client contact the interests and needs of the community. The Director is responsible for daily operations, including personnel issues, program development, scheduling, finances, facility upkeep, and the use of facilities and resources. The position requires the Director to independently think and creatively control the development, implementation, and evaluation of ongoing innovative programming. The Director is responsible for ensuring quality control and working with their supervisor and other key contacts to ensure that the company is providing the best possible service to the client company and its employees. The Director works both independently and effectively with customers and other staff to achieve and maintain the excellence standards set forth by the company while exercising good judgment in providing excellent programs and customer service to our members.
The responsibilities of the Fitness Director can be further divided into the following areas: customer service, staff development, resources and facilities, program development and implementation, budget management and operation expenses.
Job Responsibilities:
• Planning and monitoring of day-to-day operations to ensure smooth progress.
• Coordinate the development, implementation, communication, participant registration, and marketing for all special events and fitness programs within the Community of Cross Creek.
• Oversee ongoing and established monthly programming and group fitness classes for all three fitness facilities.
• Oversee ongoing and established programming within the community.
• Ability to step in as a sub for class instructors or trainers per need of the facility.
• Attend community functions, meetings, or events that require fitness representation or participation and be the subject matter expert for the Fitness Center.
• Work closely with Community Management team. Attend required weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly meetings to report ongoing operations, utilization, programming, participation, and facility and equipment maintenance.
• Oversee all scheduling of provided services including, but not limited to, personal training and nutrition consultations, training and instructing, new resident orientations, or other requested services. The flexibility to sub and provide these services when needed.
• Manage relationships, agreements and correspondence with external partners/vendors. Ensure quality control and provide flexibility to meet external partners/vendors on site for services when necessary.
• Responsible for overseeing and ensuring facilities' upkeep.
• Responsible for hiring, staffing, coaching, and counseling of staff members with the support of the Risher Operations Team.
• Work closely with and professionally develop dedicated team of Assistant Fitness Director and Fitness Lead.
• Oversee and ensure policies and safety protocols, complete daily cleaning requirements, provide quality customer service and programs.
• Supervise staff and develop and implement staff evaluation parameters with the support of the Risher Operations Team.
• Set and maintain team goals and initiatives while helping to foster a positive working environment.
• Responsible for the scheduling, substitute policies, and staff coverage needs. Is accessible to all staff to answer questions or inquiries.
• Fill in as a staff member in the event of staff absences as needed.
• Prioritize client vison and goals and collaborate with the Risher Operations Team on operational updates.
• Evaluate the efficiency of procedures and services provided according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
• Develop and implement marketing strategy for the facility using a variety of platforms.
• Manage the facility's budget including forecasting and reporting.
• Monitor the preventative maintenance program for equipment.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Fitness Management or comparable required
• Personal Training Certificate from an accredited program required (NASM, ACSM, ACE, or Similar)
• CPR and First Aid Certification required.
Experience:
• 2-3 years experience in fitness or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years Supervisory or Management experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years Facility Operations experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other presentation applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team, and perform detail-oriented functions.
