Position SummaryThis recruitment will be used to fill part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) positions as a Fitness Center Attendant for Oregon State University-Cascades (OSU-Cascades) in Bend, Oregon. Anticipated Hourly Rate $15.95
Position Duties - Welcome, greet and provide quality service to facility users
- Positively represent the Office of Student Life and the University
- Ensure patrons check into the facility upon entry
- Uphold facility and office policies and procedures, apply safe practices
- Maintain constant surveillance of facility and fitness center users
- Provide emergency response/care if necessary ntil more advanced care arrives; act calmly and efficiently in emergency situations
- Report any incident of injury, theft or broken equipment to the Campus Recreation Coordinator
- Organize and clean equipment
- Perform minor equipment maintenance
- Contribute to the communication log each shift
- Perform opening/closing duties of fitness center
- Attend staff meetings and trainings
- Follow directions and complete assignments

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications - In good standing with the University, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA at the time of hire and throughout employment
- Able to work 10-16 hours a week.
- Availability during FC operating hours
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to communicate rules and regulations, and hold users accountable
- Experience working with others, preferably in customer service/office setting
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctual
- Ability to address and resolve conflict
- This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Current OSU-Cascades student enrolled in a minimum credits requirements each term
