Description The Fitness Attendant is responsible for the opening and closing functions of the applicable fitness center and providing assistance to the management team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe fitness environment and checking the fitness rooms and pools for any problems or issues needing attention.
- Ensures the Fitness Center experience is positive for residents and guests by maintaining the established standards
- Greets each resident with a smile and direct eye contact
- Becomes knowledgeable about the facility and its amenities in order to effectively communicate with residents and guests
- Ensures proper opening and closing procedures for the Fitness Center are completed
- Consistently performs all applicable duties listed on the Daily Checklist
- Provides outstanding service, including but not limited to: arriving on time, assisting with questions and concerns, providing basic information about the gym equipment, and notifying management of any issues that need addressed
- Attends monthly meetings and periodic fitness center training sessions
- Assists with answering the phones as needed
- May process sales using the appropriate software
- Provides assistance with emergency situations that may arise
- Assists Fitness Instructors with getting equipment out for classes and putting it away
- Keeps the fitness desk stocked with the appropriate documents
- Alerts management of any inventory needs
- Alerts management of any situation that requires maintenance follow up
- Assists the recreation staff as needed
- Ensure members and guests are validated through the security system
- Helps ensure facility is accessed by members and/or guests only, and is safe and secure at all times
- Works a flexible schedule, to include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Performs all duties in adherence to Company standards
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service preferred
- Previous experience with Jonas Systems preferred
Skills and Knowledge: - Must be able to read, write and understand English with good communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work well with the public and provide excellent customer service
