Location: Houston or Austin, Texas (Remote with occasional travel)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Firmware/Software Engineer with a strong background in notebook PC operating systems, particularly Windows and software application development. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience and a solid understanding of embedded systems, as well as proficiency in C/C programming. This engineer will be working with our Sales and Marketing teams remotely in Austin or Houston, TX, and will be traveling to support our customers in Texas. Our main office is located in Irvine, CA. This engineer will also have a chance to visit California when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and maintain firmware and software applications for notebook PCs, with a focus on Windows operating systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Windows background service applications.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to the development of embedded systems, leveraging your expertise in firmware design and implementation.
  • Engage with customers during site visits to gather requirements, provide support, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Document software designs, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in firmware/software development, with a focus on notebook PC operating systems (Windows).
  • Experience in developing Windows background service applications is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and firmware development.
  • Proficiency in C/C programming languages.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Texas to meet with customers.
Preferred Skills:
  • Working experience in notebook PC industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with other operating systems (e.g., Linux) is a plus.
  • Experience with software development tools and version control systems.
  • Knowledge of hardware interfaces and protocols.
  • Proficient in both Chinese and English is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AI and DNN is a plus.
Compensation is DOE.

Location: Houston or Austin, Texas (Occasional travel to office in Irvine, CA when needed)
