Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Firmware Engineer to join one of the world's leading social networking companies. This individual will work with the Reality Labs organization which helps people around the world come together through next generation Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality. The main function of a firmware software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical firmware software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests embedded software working with other Firmware engineers as well as engineers from other disciplines.

Job Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain embedded systems and firmware.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.

Perform debugging, testing, and validation of embedded systems.

Develop and maintain documentation for system designs and implementations.

Pay rate: $85-90/hr

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Experience with MCUs (preferably Nordic) and STM32 microcontrollers.

Proficiency in C/C programming.

Experience with peripherals (USB, SPI, MIPI CSI/DSI, I2C, UART, GPIO).

Proven track record in producing production-quality, fail-safe firmware for low-power real-time systems.

Knowledge of ARM Cortex M0/M3/M4 architecture, boot mechanisms, and interrupt priorities.

Skills in low-level debugging and driver development.

Experience with consumer electronics.

Familiarity with embedded systems development tools and environments.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Experience with wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Zigbee).

Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Understanding of hardware design and schematics. null
