Fire Sprinkler Service Technician Level III

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Level III Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to perform inspection, testing, service, and repairs of fire sprinkler systems and related components. The role requires ensuring compliance with life-safety and fire-safety codes and standards, manufacturers' specifications, federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company and customer expectations. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role within the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Perform inspections and testing of all types of fire sprinkler systems according to NFPA 25 requirements and applicable codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair fire sprinkler systems, including fire pumps and associated components.
- Document all inspections, repairs, deficiencies, and recommendations clearly and accurately, either electronically or manually.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and communicate relevant information to internal personnel for follow-up.
- Keep company vehicle clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts, tools, and supplies.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and safe to use.
- Assess customer sites for potential additional equipment or service needs.
- Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Respond to on-site or off-site (phone) emergency service calls.
- Perform backflow prevention testing as required by NFPA 25 and applicable local codes (separate certification may be required).
- Clearly communicate any system deficiencies to the customer, including explanations and potential solutions.
- Availability for occasional night, weekend, or holiday work may be necessary based on location.
- Must be comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, or in confined spaces.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water-based fire protection systems layout and service, including hydraulic calculations and system design.
- Ability to perform basic math (fractions, decimals, percentages).
- Proficient in basic computer use, including software and systems such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Apple iOS, and Android.
- Valid U.S. driver's license required.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience with fire sprinkler systems.
- NICET III Certification in Water-Based Systems.
- State fire protection license applicable to the job location.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Overtime may be required and work hours may vary by location.
- Exposure to varied environmental conditions (hot, cold, dusty).
- Occasional overnight travel to customer locations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent climbing, lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and overhead reaching.
- Driving may be required and duration will vary.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory per safety guidelines.
