POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs and accomplishes minor maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of fire alarm and sprinkler systems within University Health (the Health System) buildings and facilities. Helps different traders bypass and acknowledge fire alarm panels and annunciators along with maintaining and cleaning fire alarm devices. Ensures safe, competent, efficient, and timely performance of assigned tasks. Cares for and uses materials, supplies, tools, and equipment properly.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 2 years of experience in fire alarm and sprinkler systems in healthcare is required. Reading, interpreting and applying plans, specifications, blueprints, schematics, codes and work orders.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
A Fire Alarm License (F.A.L.) from the Texas Department of Insurance requires or is obtained the same within six (6) months of employment. A valid Texas State driver's license "Class C" and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record and insurable by the Health System.
