Job Description
The Financial Systems Administrator is aposition in the Finance department and actively maintains the overall structure and reliability of the financial system(s) used for financial reporting, forecasting, profitability, budgeting, call report, allowance for credit loss (CECL), investor reporting, and associated general ledger postings. This position is responsible for continual system processing and administration, data management and analysis, investor and regulatory reporting, and interdepartmental collaboration. Regarding data management and financial systems, the successful candidate will have experience working with large data sets and will have hands-on data warehouse knowledge, a high proficiency in SQL, and a strong understanding of credit union finance. The successful candidate will use their attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure the data is accurate and validated to core systems. Focusing on data analysis and reporting, the successful candidate will focus on four types of dynamic analytics: (i) descriptive ("what happened?"), (ii) diagnostic ("why did it happen?"), (iii) predictive ("what will happen?"), and (iv) prescriptive ("how can we make it happen?"). The successful candidate has an intellectual curiosity that allows them to draw conclusions from results and see how it may impact other functions in the organization. This candidate must be a self-starter, a forward-thinker, comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment and be able to articulate the results (verbal and written) in a method suitable for those at all levels in the organization.
Essential Functions - Financial Systems Admin (currently Axiom) - Act as a primary resource for financial reporting and data matters in the financial reporting software (Axiom). Develops, performs, and maintains monthly system administration functions including integration and comprehensive system architecture. Assists and supports the finance operations team (Financial Analysts). Helps to implement the improvement roadmap to accommodate constantly developing finance tasks and team requests. Develops and manages financial models to support general ledger postings, CECL, budgeting, forecasting, profitability, ad-hoc analysis, and business decision-making. Continuously look for opportunities to leverage systems and tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of internal and external reporting. Supports the primary data miner for the Finance and Treasury departments. Adjusts and writes ad hoc queries against data warehouse or other internal systems using primarily MS SQL. Works closely with business intelligence/data warehouse group to obtain the necessary information to provide clear recommendations and analysis.
- Data Analysis & Management - Critically evaluate data of different types, discern data patterns, and identify data outliers using a high level of attention to detail. On a monthly basis, queries SQL data, runs Axiom imports, and validates results to core systems. Creates and maintains reports for the CFO's functional areas. Investigate and resolve variances. Updates existing processes or creates new processes, if needed.
- Investor Reporting - Reviews data files received from Ent's purchased participations to ensure accuracy and that all pertinent information is reported to meet our reporting requirements (GAAP). Preps files for import into Axiom and reconciles data to source documents. On a monthly basis, processes SQL queries, imports data, and creates reporting packages for our sold loan participation investors. Reconciles results to core systems and sends reporting packages to our trustees and investors. Prepares monthly GL entries for the accounting department to post.
- Regulatory Reporting - General understanding in the preparation of the NCUA 5300 Call Report. Works with the senior analyst to understand how pages talk with each other and help to ensure data is reported accurately. Review the updates to instructions from NCUA to gain an understanding of what is being asked.
- Intra/Interdepartmental Collaboration - Collaborate with department leaders to update income/expense allocations for more accurate profitability reporting. Able to effectively communicate the needs and requests asked by finance of other departments. Comfortable communicating with employees at all levels in the organization.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications: Qualifications
Minimum Formal Qualifications for Jr level: - Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance or similar field of study (preferred)
- 1+ years' experience in finance or accounting work (preferably in a Financial Institution) to include using software systems and databases (Axiom experience preferred), creating complex financial models, and managing and analyzing large data sets.
- 1+ years' experience with regulatory filing of the NCUA 5300 Call Report (Preferred)
- 1+ years' experience with POWER BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools (Preferred)
Minimum Formal Qualifications for Regular level: - Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance or similar field of study (preferred)
- 3+ years' experience in finance or accounting work (preferably in a Financial Institution) to include:
- 2+ years' experience using software systems and databases (Axiom experience preferred), and creating complex financial models, to include managing and analyzing large data sets.
- 1+ years' experience with regulatory filing of the NCUA 5300 Call Report (preferred)

Minimum Formal Qualifications for Sr. level: - Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance or similar field of study (preferred)
- 5+ years' experience in finance or accounting work (preferably in a Financial Institution) to include:
- 3+ years' experience using software systems and databases (Axiom experience preferred), and creating complex financial models, to include managing and analyzing large data sets.
- 2+ years' experience with regulatory filing of the NCUA 5300 Call Report (preferred)
- 2+ years' experience with POWER BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools (preferred)
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience. Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills: - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formula creation and modification).
- General understanding of a financial institution's financial statements, budgeting and forecasting concepts, and report creation.
- Demonstrated experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of the concept of profitability at the organization, product, channel, and member level, including FTP (Funds Transfer Pricing) calculation for loans and deposits.
- Aptitude to learn new and emerging concepts very quickly.
- Experience learning/navigating/administering a variety of software systems and databases.
- Understanding of how change may impact internal financial systems and reporting.
- Uses analytical skills to address data integrity and reconciliations between reporting systems.
- Familiarity with large data sets. Strong understanding of how to analyze and summarize results in a timely manner.
- Self-motivated, independent problem solver with excellent financial intuition and drive to explore the interaction of data across systems.
- Propensity to work efficiently and effectively with limited instruction.
- Collaborate effectively by sharing ideas and requirements with both technical and non-technical audiences through meetings, working group sessions, whiteboard sessions using data visualization skills.

The pay range for the Jr. level is: $30 to $39 per Hour (I13, Non-exempt)
The pay range for the Regular level is: $70,824 to $88,524 per Year (I14, Exempt)
The pay range for the Sr. level is: $82,908 to $103,625 per Year (I15, Exempt)
