Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Crime Analyst to join our compliance team on a fixed-term contract. The role focuses on financial crime topics, including sanctions screening and advisory, supporting our efforts to detect and prevent financial crime and ensure compliance with GLLB and GLLS policies and frameworks.

The successful candidate will support financial crime prevention by conducting risk assessments, analyzing control frameworks, and advising on sanctions-related issues, reporting to the UK Head of Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial crime risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Assess and improve control frameworks.
  • Perform sanctions screening to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide advice on financial crime queries, including sanctions issues.
  • Advise on sanctions risks across insurance and reinsurance, ensuring compliance.
  • Stay updated on financial crime trends and regulations.
  • Conduct fraud risk assessments to meet legislative standards.
  • Assist in developing and delivering financial crime training.
  • Support onboarding and risk assessment of new business opportunities, including outsourcing arrangements.
  • Implement proportionate risk-based financial crime norms aligned with group standards.
  • Support compliance with financial crime legislation and regulations.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in financial crime roles, ideally within insurance or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions regulations.
  • Experience in risk assessments and control framework analysis.
  • Experience with sanctions screening and advisory support.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Experience with complex insurance/reinsurance sanctions queries and outsourcing arrangements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Professional qualification in Financial Crime prevention or progress towards it.
